GMD is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic analyst to play a pivotal role in our strategic growth. The ideal candidate combines financial domain expertise with an ability to collaborate cross functionally and an ability to look beyond corners and anticipate and mitigate future risks. The Role: This position reports directly to the senior finance leader in GMD supporting Capture, Cost model & program support, Strategic Initiatives. This role requires partnership and collaboration with several groups in GM Defense and will be responsible for development financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to improve performance, mitigate risks and capture opportunities. Depending on the project and required analysis, interfaces will be with Program Management, Program teams, GSPC, Contracts, Business Development Manufacturing planning and others. This work involves a high level of collaboration, judgement, decision-making, accuracy, creativity, and initiative and requires an ability to work independently. This is a key position where your insights will guide future decisions and strategic direction within GM Defense What You’ll Do:

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • Financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with financial reporting/accounting concepts
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other office products
  • Hyperion and SAP Experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to perform data analytics and gather data from disperse systems
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within Finance/Controllership and with operating partners

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and review Product Lifecycle models
  • Provide support and analysis on cost reduction proposals and program tracking on overall cost reduction
  • Provide investment analysis
  • Conduct Make/Buy analysis
  • Maintain capital forecast and support AR planning and development
  • Identify improvement opportunities, risks and proactively implement solutions
  • Partner with execution leaders to develop and achieve appropriate cost targets by providing accurate and timely data for material, utilization, pre-production, and scrap, etc.
  • Search out and correct inconsistent data, solve problems and develop new methods of analysis
  • Prepare special studies and business cases, providing financial analysis, consultation, and decision support
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial estimates, analysis to support the business to make informed decisions about investments, budgeting and overall financial strategy
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with functional counterparts to address issues
  • Ensure standard processes are automated as far as possible and are working effectively
