About The Position

Under the supervision of the Dean the Strategic Initiatives Project Officer plays a key role in advancing the priorities of the Dean’s Office by ensuring the successful development, coordination, and execution of projects that support the faculty’s strategic vision.

Requirements

  • Strong project management expertise with the ability to support multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic and administrative environment.
  • Ability to integrate concepts and ideas and to create visual design representations, in both print and electronic media.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, and implement initiatives that align with the strategic direction of the Dean’s Office and the faculty.
  • Ensure that projects related to strategic initiatives are in compliance with established quality standards and regulations.
  • Develop plans for of space restructuring and the development of new campus development projects
  • Liaises with external clients, particularly industry, to explore partnership opportunities
  • Develops and presents partnership business cases to faculty leadership for approval
  • Apply a structured project management approach to medium- and large-scale infrastructure and operational initiatives.
  • Asses strategic priorities, resources, and outcomes to guide decision-making and continuous improvement .
  • Liaise, engage, and collaborate with Associate Deans, faculty members, and administrative staff to advance initiatives while respecting governance structures and communication protocols.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to ensure alignment, integration, and shared success in the delivery of strategic initiatives.
