About The Position

Position Overview: The Strategic Finance Analyst plays a crucial role in building our financial infrastructure and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our organization. You will work closely with the VP and Manager of Finance develop financial plans, manage budgets, and drive financial performance. Additionally, you will provide strategic guidance and analysis to support decision-making and growth initiatives. The Analyst is a highly motivated and intellectually curious individual who is passionate about our mission and driven by results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (Required)
  • Background in investment banking or startup finance/business development experience preferred
  • Experience with board or client deliverables
  • Proven financial modeling and analysis experience, ideally in a healthcare startup or similar fast-paced environment
  • Experience creating budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Must have a home office that is secure and free of distractions (HIPAA-compliant workspace)
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at the desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to hear, speak, call and virtually meet
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • In order to perform the essential functions of this job, you must have a dedicated remote workspace, and a wireless connection with a minimum of 50 Mbps of download speed and 10 Mbps of upload speed of dedicated internet bandwidth for each person working from home; the workspace is private and has low to no noise level as you will be on phone calls with patients. It is very important that your workspace is HIPAA compliant; your company issued laptop/pc must maintain visibility that only you can access as you'll be handling patient data. You are also expected to have your camera on during virtual meetings, therefore, you must be in a designated workspace/room for privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the company's financial budgets and forecasts. This involves working closely with the data team to ensure analysis is rooted in quality data and the growth team to drive growth and clarity with partners, owning financial modeling for the organization, and then consolidating this information into comprehensive financial plans
  • Build financial models to evaluate various scenarios and make informed decisions. These models might include: cash flow projections, revenue forecasts, expense analyses, sensitivity analyses to assess potential risks and opportunities, TAM analyses, cohort analyses, and unit economics analyses
  • Monitor the company's financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and track them regularly to assess the company's progress towards its goals
  • Analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted figures. Investigate the reasons behind discrepancies and provide insights to management to help improve performance
  • Prepare regular financial reports for internal stakeholders (e.g., management team and board of directors) as well as external parties (e.g., investors, lenders). These reports may include income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other relevant financial metrics
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as requested by management to address specific questions or concerns, such as pricing strategies, cost optimization initiatives, or performance benchmarking against competitors
