About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Strategic Account Director in United States. This senior, field-based role is responsible for managing and expanding high-value customer accounts, driving revenue growth, and ensuring long-term satisfaction. You will serve as the primary relationship manager for strategic clients, translating their needs into actionable business solutions. The position requires developing comprehensive account plans, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and overseeing contract negotiations. You will monitor account performance, maintain a robust pipeline, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions. The role combines strategic foresight, customer engagement, and leadership, with up to 50% travel to support domestic and international clients. Candidates based in or willing to relocate to the Twin Cities, Minnesota area are strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategic account management, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Proven success managing large OEM accounts or major client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of medical device design, development, and clinical applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build executive-level relationships and lead multi-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and translate customer needs into actionable growth strategies.
  • Self-directed, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including international trips.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement account strategies aligned with client needs and organizational goals.
  • Drive revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for strategic accounts, building trust and maintaining long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing strategies to maximize account profitability.
  • Monitor account performance, maintain accurate forecasts, and update CRM systems to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, Operations, Marketing, and Portfolio Management, to deliver customized solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior account managers and customer support teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer issues, ensuring timely resolution and enhanced client satisfaction.
