About The Position

Yellowstone Landscape is seeking a Stormwater Project Operator to support stormwater maintenance and construction operations. This role is responsible for operating heavy equipment, managing stormwater projects, and leading field crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to scope. The ideal candidate has strong excavator operating experience, leadership abilities, and the ability to manage field operations while maintaining Yellowstone’s safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of excavator operating experience
  • Experience operating heavy equipment in construction, stormwater, or related field operations
  • Experience leading or supervising field crews preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, project scopes, and punch lists
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and perform stormwater system inspections
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed
  • Ability to enter confined spaces as required for stormwater inspections

Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to perform stormwater maintenance and construction activities
  • Manage and oversee stormwater projects to ensure work is completed according to scope, schedule, and quality standards
  • Assist with project estimating and planning as needed
  • Drive company vehicles and transport crew members and equipment to job sites when required
  • Understand and execute the scope of work for properties serviced by the crew and ensure all work is completed according to service levels and timelines
  • Review punch lists and communicate project requirements clearly to crew members
  • Lead, supervise, and direct daily crew activities in the field
  • Ensure crew members follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Train and mentor crew members on proper equipment operation and safe work practices
  • Perform confined space entry and inspections of stormwater facilities as required (training provided or required)
  • Assist the Branch Manager with crew hiring and team development
