Bird Electric, a Black & Veatch company, is a U.S. self-perform electrical construction services provider with a national reach in emergency power restoration. Bird Electric delivers grid solutions and operates in adjacent distributed infrastructure markets including renewables, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and connectivity. This position maintains a high level of professional sales governance knowledge and contribute to the business development success for Bird Electric's Midwest territory. Collaborate with companies offered solutions to solve client's challenges and needs. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our clients and positioning ourselves effectively in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • 6+ years applicable business development experience.
  • Experience developing, maintaining and executing strategic sales plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly, and to convert technical or complex information and concepts into easily understandable content.
  • Firm understanding of competition and differentiators.
  • B2B sales experience
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred, with technical or business focus. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Build organizational capability and effectiveness.
  • Lead effective business development methods.
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure competitive positioning in the market.
  • Implement strategies that obtain new business sales.
  • Coordinate with other sectors in pursuit of new business sales for the benefit of the entire company.
  • Understand how to align company business goals with clients.
  • Communicate concise strategy for sales/client growth to the team.
  • Governance of business decisions within assigned portfolio.
  • Maintain industry relationships; develop new client accounts.
  • Evaluate key metrics and apply to strategy.
  • Understand client's business and strategize with sales team on account management.
  • Thorough understanding of the timing of new business.
  • Deep understanding of the commercial deal; including margins, risks, terms & conditions, etc.
