About The Position

University Housing & Dining is seeking a Storekeeper II position to join the team at Burge Marketplace. Under general supervision, this role involves operating a small storeroom, or being in charge of one or more functions of a large storeroom operation. The Storekeeper II also provides functional supervision to storeroom personnel as required. University Dining's goal at Iowa is to provide wholesome, healthy, and tasty foods prepared daily to meet the dietary and nutritional needs of students, with a commitment to sustainable products and services, including purchasing locally grown and sustainable foods from vendors when possible. The Division of Student Life, which encompasses 15 departments, is comprised of staff who embrace new ideas, work collaboratively to ensure student safety, and provide life-changing experiences. The division's mission is to foster student success by creating and promoting educationally purposeful services and activities within and beyond the classroom.

Requirements

One year of work experience in storekeeping, accounting, business administration or job related work, or Any combination of such experience and post high school education that totals one year
Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards

Nice To Haves

Understanding of ordering cycles, storage standards, food safety, and coordination with receiving, culinary teams, and floor supervisors
Experience using an automated food control system
Ability to take the ServSafe course and successfully pass the ServSafe test requirements within one year of hire
Ability to foster a welcoming and respectful workplace environment while recognizing personal differences
