Position Summary: The Retail Store Manager leads store operations, drives sales performance, and develops a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines business expertise with a genuine passion for music and customer service. You’ll represent Schmitt Music’s core values: Serve the customer. Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in music business or related field
  • 2+ years of retail management or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of musical instruments, especially band & orchestra
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
  • Experience supervising Repair Technicians, Independent Educators, or Educational Representatives (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all store operations to achieve sales, profit, and performance goals
  • Manage inventory, expenses, and overall financial health of the store
  • Exceed Sales Plan Contribution targets
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a motivated sales team
  • Ensure exceptional customer experiences in every interaction
  • Act as an educational representative for schools and community accounts
  • Participate in limited regional travel
  • Foster a positive, team-focused store culture
