This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about sales, people development, and delivering an exceptional in-store experience. Position Overview As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance and daily operations of the store. You will lead by example, drive sales results, develop talent, and ensure operational excellence while representing the Spring Step brand at the highest level.

Requirements

  • Retail Experience: Footwear or specialty retail experience preferred
  • Leadership: 1–3 years of retail management experience, including at least 6 months managing a team
  • Sales-Driven: Proven ability to drive results and build customer loyalty
  • Financial Acumen: Comfortable reviewing P&L reports and business metrics
  • Technology: Experience with POS systems and basic computer applications
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders
  • Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Communication: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-Centric: Passion for delivering exceptional service
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, changing retail environment
  • Organization: Strong time management and delegation skills

Responsibilities

  • Build a Winning Sales Culture Create a positive, high-performance environment that motivates and engages the team while reflecting Spring Step’s brand values.
  • Drive Sales & Performance Achieve and exceed sales goals across footwear, accessories, and promotional initiatives through strong leadership and execution.
  • Recruit, Train & Develop Talent Lead all aspects of hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and retention to build a skilled and motivated team.
  • Coach & Lead with Purpose Provide ongoing feedback, performance management, and development to help team members grow and succeed.
  • Oversee Store Operations Manage merchandising standards, inventory control, store presentation, and operational compliance to maximize efficiency and shopability.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Experiences Lead by example to ensure outstanding service that builds loyalty and repeat business.
  • Manage Financial Performance Analyze P&L statements, monitor KPIs, control expenses, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Loss Prevention & Asset Protection Ensure adherence to loss prevention policies, cash handling procedures, and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead Change & Company Initiatives Champion new programs, processes, and initiatives while keeping the team engaged and aligned.
