About The Position

The Store Manager at Canyon Country is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational excellence of a multi-concept location that includes a convenience market, gas station, bowling alley, and on-site A&W restaurant. This role provides strategic and day-to-day oversight of all departments, ensuring a consistent guest experience, strong financial performance, and a positive, accountable workplace culture. The Store Manager directly oversees the Assistant Store Manager and provides indirect leadership support to the A&W Manager and A&W Assistant Manager, ensuring alignment across all operations. This position plays a critical role in driving results, developing leaders, and serving as the primary point of accountability for the location.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of multi-unit retail, hospitality, or food service management experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop managers in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong operational, financial, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

  • Experience overseeing diverse operations (food service, retail, or entertainment) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, visible leadership across all areas of the operation, setting clear expectations and modeling company values.
  • Directly manage and develop the Assistant Store Manager; provide guidance and support to the A&W Manager and A&W Assistant Manager.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing leadership team through coaching, performance feedback, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
  • Partner with HR and Operations on hiring, training, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Oversee daily operations of the convenience market, gas station, bowling alley, and A&W to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Ensure all departments follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain strong communication and coordination between departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
  • Monitor facility conditions and coordinate maintenance, safety checks, and vendor relationships.
  • Drive sales, profitability, and operational efficiency across all business units.
  • Manage labor, scheduling, and staffing levels to meet business needs while controlling costs.
  • Review financial reports, KPIs, and operational metrics; take corrective action as needed.
  • Support inventory management, cash handling, and loss prevention efforts.
  • Ensure a welcoming, clean, and customer-focused environment across all areas of the location.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Champion service standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including food safety, alcohol sales, fuel operations, and workplace safety.
  • Lead and support safety initiatives and incident reporting.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational or compliance issues.
