Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service; responsible for total store CSI (Customer Service Index) and ensuring customer concerns are resolved.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques (telephone, intercom, and one‑on‑one interaction).
  • Respond to incoming calls and resolve customer grievances; close the loop between customer and employee relations.
  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for total store operations.
  • Implement Company and Division merchandising, operating, and sales initiatives; drive sales, manage expenses, and achieve gross profit expectations.
  • Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for efficiency and profitability.
  • Communicate with Operations Specialists to execute sales plans, promotions, and division programs.
  • Communicate company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to all departments; ensure compliance across the store.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with department managers to review ads, sales plans, and promotions; ensure alternate leadership conducts meetings when absent.
  • Develop and maintain positive community relations and communication channels with vendors, manufacturer representatives, and corporate personnel.
  • Monitor market conditions, trends, and competitor activities.
  • Maintain strong vendor and warehouse relations.
  • Operate computer and electronic ordering systems; requires basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email.
  • Ensure company safety and health initiatives are communicated and practiced by all associates.
  • Maintain full integrity in food safety and sanitation; responsible for total store compliance in all departments.
  • Enforce Food Safety & Sanitation, HIPAA, COBC, Meat Grinding & Tracking Log, Texas Workplace Benefits Plan, Food Handlers requirements, and any other company or state‑specific compliance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Enforce proper code dating throughout all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling initiatives, wage and payroll guidelines, Time Clock Policy, benefit plans, grooming standards, dress code, child labor laws, and all employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal requirements and retention policies.
  • Conduct daily inspections of store conditions, coaching employees on cleanliness, rotation, labeling, and code date standards.
  • Operate equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines.
  • Implement emergency procedures during equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Ensure proper product temperature levels at all times and compliance with federal/state regulations and labeling laws.
  • Follow all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
  • Fully accountable for store staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training.
  • Evaluate job performance and make personnel decisions including promotions, terminations, and disciplinary actions; complete required documentation.
  • Consider recommendations from department managers and assistant managers when making personnel decisions.
  • Conduct formal employee evaluations according to division guidelines.
  • Identify training gaps and ensure development of key associates.
  • Resolve employee relations issues including complaints of discrimination, harassment, wage concerns, and legal violations, with HR support as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality related to employee information, store performance, and company data.
  • Provide clear guidance and instruction to department managers, supervisors, and associates.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with cash handling procedures, accounting of sales, safe procedures, and safeguarding of company assets.
  • Control shrink and maintain inventory levels in backroom and sales floor areas per division guidelines.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets; control store operating, maintenance, expense, and supply costs.
  • Complete or oversee completion of all store reports and required administrative paperwork; fully understand P&L and all store performance reports.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; ensure accurate physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of merchandise, supplies, and equipment; oversee inventories and support audit processes.
  • Supervise processing of reclamation and ensure orderly conditions in all departments and backroom.
  • Recommend equipment or building repairs and improvements to the District Manager.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, rotated, and maintained.
  • Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity; treat all employees with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
