About The Position

The Store Development Manager is responsible for supporting the fluctuating needs of a growing business during the store-set process (new stores and/or remodel projects). Leading a team of Store Managers, Store Associates, and Contractors, s/he ensures all tactical requirements of assigned projects are completed within a limited timeframe, standard operating procedures are followed, outstanding issues are communicated, and training is administered in order to flawlessly deliver a platform for store teams to deliver an exceptional Ulta Beauty guest experience. Additionally, in partnership with store operational leadership and peers, the Store Set Manager provides feedback to create and sustain company-wide operational materials that drive store-set compliance, process, and efficiency. This position requires a strong eye for detail, exceptional verbal and written communication, and the ability to successfully manage through unexpected challenges with limited supervision. The ideal candidate has a history of leading multiple complicated projects simultaneously, developing a team, and working cross-functionally (including third party vendors) to drive successful results in a retail or operational related industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business is preferred
  • Five years of relevant work experience (or 2-3 years of experience as a store leader)
  • Previous work or educational experience with retail visual merchandising
  • Previous work or educational experience with sales management
  • Previous experience with leading and developing a large, remote, team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills with the analytical ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and a fine eye for detail
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and drive to continuously and proactively manage a heavy workload
  • Strong computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel for the following: Up to two-week long assignments Business meetings
  • Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule to including: Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Extended hours (up to 12) in a day Extended days (up to 7) in a week

Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs store-set activities required to meet the pre-defined budget and timeline.
  • Leads flawless execution of new store set/remodel projects through punch list completion.
  • Navigates through unexpected challenges by seamlessly shifting focuses, without compromising quality or impacting deadlines.
  • Identifies learnings and communicates process recommendations following the completion of each project in order to reduce cost and/or improve efficiencies in new and existing stores.
