About The Position

The Store Development Manager is a leadership role responsible for the successful delivery of the company’s retail CapEx program. This role partners closely with Real Estate Dealmakers, field leadership, internal cross-functional teams, and external vendors to ensure new stores, remodels, relocations, and capital improvements are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This leader serves as the single point of accountability for construction execution, translating real estate strategy into operationally excellent, brand-consistent stores. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex retail construction programs at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive retail construction or store development experience.
  • Proven leadership of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong financial, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in an office environment with regular travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner to Real Estate Dealmakers, providing early input on feasibility, scope, budgets, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with field stakeholders to ensure projects align with operational needs and minimize business disruption.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and external vendors.
  • Represent Store Development as a subject-matter expert and leader across the organization.
  • Lead all phases of retail CapEx projects, including new store builds, remodels, relocations, and special initiatives.
  • Establish and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, construction quality, and company requirements.
  • Oversee plan review, permitting, inspections, and approvals.
  • Select, manage, and hold architects, contractors, and suppliers accountable.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and drive cost discipline.
  • Ensure safety standards are enforced across all job sites.
  • Own CapEx budgets and forecasts; manage variances and reporting.
  • Deliver projects within approved financial targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and company standards.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, inspections, and project closeouts.
  • Deliver high-quality finished stores supporting long-term asset value.
