This position contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the regional store development process to create outstanding store designs in influential markets that elevate our brand, inspire our partners and uphold our company's customer experience. The process is inclusive of all phases of design from landlord coordination and schematics through construction documents and administration while honoring budget, schedule, and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • CAD drafting using Revit, AutoCAD and Sketchup software (5+ years)
  • Project management experience (5+ years)
  • Retail, hospitality or restaurant design or development organization including management of construction documents (5+ years)
  • Experience managing external architectural and/or design consultants (5+ years)
  • Bachelor's degree required in related field

Responsibilities

  • Implement strategies and processes in designing Starbucks stores, providing clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and solutions.
  • Contribute to studio team goals and success by achieving target deliverables on the assigned stores and meeting all established deadlines.
  • Support cross-functional teams to manage landlord coordination within parameters of individual store budgets and market requirements.
  • Develop design documentation per regional guidelines including schematic drawings. Conduct budget and operational calls to align with cross-functional teams prior to construction documentation.
  • Manage the production of construction documents by external consultants. Responsible for the integrity and quality of the construction documents inclusive of design intent, detailing, code requirements, scheduling, signage and MEPs.
  • Participate in the architectural design process by reviewing and analyzing project documentation.
  • Communicate dates and process status to cross-functional teams, meeting all established deadlines and budgets. Conduct site visits as needed.
  • Participate in regional initiatives as needed.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
  • For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
