About The Position
Madison Wine Exchange is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Store Associate to join our team at our location in Madison, CT. As the Shoreline's premier retailer of Wine, Liquor, and Beer, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to our customers. The Store Associate will play a crucial role in helping our Managers and designated staff meet the daily operational goals of the store. This part-time position offers a starting hourly pay rate of $16.00 and requires a commitment to delivering a welcoming retail environment. In this role, the Store Associate will be responsible for operating a POS computer-based cash register, assisting customers with carry outs, and ensuring that the store is well-stocked and organized. The position involves building displays, stocking shelves, and managing pack outs on delivery days. Additionally, the Store Associate will be responsible for light cleaning and maintenance tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal. It is important to note that this position does not have seated options, and candidates must be prepared to be on their feet for the entire shift. Candidates should be available to work during major holidays, including but not limited to New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Previous cashiering experience is preferred, and candidates should possess good communication skills, the ability to make change, and comfort in handling cash. A reliable form of transportation is also required, along with the physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, in compliance with State of CT regulations.
