About The Position

The Stone Product Manager acts as a liaison between sales and purchasing/vendor management. Their responsibilities include overseeing vendors and product acquisition, commercializing and branding products, conducting market research, handling packaging, training and supporting sales teams, and planning promotional activities. They strategically manage every stage of the product lifecycle and are incentivized based on performance metrics such as revenue, revenue growth, gross margins, and inventory management.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to develop in-depth expertise in the product or market, including specific technical or industry knowledge

  • Collaborative team player with a strong ability to work well with staff at all organizational levels

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of Vendors and Vendor relations for identified product lines
  • Responsible for negotiating overall Vendor pricing and acquisition strategies to be implemented by purchasing staff throughout the organization
  • Identify, track, and report key metrics for their product lines, including inventory levels and trends, purchasing activity, inventory turns, slow-moving and obsolete products and transfers
  • Work with yard staff and purchasing on the buying of products and the analysis to identify appropriate stocking levels and trends for the company and by yard
  • Support purchasers with maintaining yard inventory, scheduling logistics and other purchasing support
  • Provide product knowledge, training, and product expertise to and in support of the sales force
  • Conduct research on competitive products and identify those that meet market demands
  • Execute NPI (New Product Introduction) strategies, including pricing, education, marketing strategies, marketing collateral and samples support to ensure sales can successfully drive the products into the marketplace
  • Network in the industry and at trade shows and association functions that promote the identified product lines
