About The Position

Harlequin, a division of HarperCollins, is seeking a Temp to Perm Stockhanlder 2 (6am-2:30pm and must be open to overtime during the week and occasional Saturday's when required.) The Stockhandler 2 plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the warehouse by ensuring the timely and accurate movement of products, scrap materials, and excess inventory between production areas and storage. This role requires the use of material handling equipment and warehouse management systems to maintain the flow of goods while supporting daily production schedules and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Once attendance and performance meets Harlequin's stardards we will convert you to one of our employees and you will recieve all benefits.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required. Additional certifications or training in inventory, warehouse management, or similar fields is a plus.
  • Forklift certification is required for all material handling equipment, including automatic forklifts and cherry pickers. HDC will certify associates.
  • Experience with RF equipment and warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a similar production or warehouse environment is required, with a demonstrated ability to perform material handling tasks effectively.
  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and efficient communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Skilled at leading conversations around production flow and material handling challenges, facilitating collaboration between teams to address issues and improve performance.
  • Must have proficiency in basic math operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to read & verify numbers, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Must be able to interpret complex production schedules, adjusting material movement strategies to align with production needs and minimize disruptions.
  • Ability to think critically, prioritize tasks, and respond to evolving production requirements.
  • Able to identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and make decisions in real-time to optimize workflow and material handling processes.
  • Employees must comply with all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized to minimize risks of accidents.
  • Report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately to supervisors.
  • Always wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Ensure personal actions align with safety expectations and encourage others to follow safety protocols.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout production floors and storage areas.
  • Frequently required to handle materials, operating forklifts, using RF equipment, and lifting boxes weighing 26-50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs and reach materials at varying heights.
