About The Position

The Stock Associate provides operational support in a customer and product-focused sales environment. This role involves working closely with Retail Managers and the Buying Team to ensure efficient inventory management, including checking in items within 48 hours, organizing the stockroom, and accurately displaying and pricing merchandise across the campus. The associate is responsible for adhering to all inventory and departmental policies, assisting with stocking new inventory, and restocking merchandise according to visual and safety standards. Key duties also include maintaining neat and orderly stock levels, assisting with inventory counts, and participating in physical inventory processes. The Stock Associate will provide feedback on assortments to maximize sales and coach other associates on restocking guidelines. Essential functions encompass stockroom management, such as organizing incoming shipments, implementing efficient stockroom organization (by style, size, color), and managing returns, damages, markdowns, and price changes. The role also involves daily stocking and replenishment, maintaining on-floor inventory, and supporting shipping and receiving. On the sales floor, the associate will prioritize and process orders, demonstrate product knowledge, assist staff during high-volume periods, and provide checkout support. Operationally, the Stock Associate helps train staff on backroom organization and safety, collaborates on merchandising and inventory initiatives, and works with buying teams on stock-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for a customer and product-focused sales environment.
  • Work with Retail Managers and Buying Team to ensure items are checked in within 48 hours.
  • Ensure stockroom is organized.
  • Ensure merchandise is displayed and priced correctly across the campus.
  • Follow all inventory, departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in stocking new inventory and restocking merchandise for floor presentation according to visual and safety standards.
  • Maintain stock levels at all outlets in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Assist with inventory counts and the physical inventory process(s).
  • Share feedback on assortments to provide maximum sales.
  • Coach behaviors to all associates regarding restocking guidelines and standards.
  • Help ensure stocking and organization of incoming shipments for resale and are easily located for replenishment for the sales floor.
  • Continuously reorganize merchandise as needed to maximize stock space.
  • Implement efficient handling of stockroom organization (i.e. style, size, color).
  • Ensure all procedures are implemented and followed along with focusing on timeliness, accuracy and completion.
  • Help manage an accurate and timely process for all return-to-vendors, and damaged/defectives as well as any markdowns and price changes.
  • Help prepare and support physical inventories, protect company assets and decrease shrinkage via accuracy and timeliness.
  • Stock/replenish merchandise daily to visual and safety standards and maintain the on-floor inventory levels.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by manager(s).
  • Partner with Managers and Buyers in getting goods to the floor.
  • Develop a working knowledge for ticketing guidelines and transfer process for all outlets.
  • Support shipping and receiving orders according to The Shop’s time and efficiency standards.
  • Help process and sensor product as needed.
  • Ensure stockroom is swept, neat and clean upon a daily basis.
  • Help prioritize and process receipts, special orders and reorders to increase daily sales.
  • Demonstrate excellent product knowledge and selling capabilities when on the sales floor.
  • Support staff on sales floor in high volume situations.
  • Provide checkout support as needed.
  • Help develop and train staff to meet backroom organization guidelines (hanging, folding, sizing).
  • Ensure staff is aware and trained in the basics of backroom safety, ticketing, stocking and merchandising.
  • Collaborate and support merchandising, restocking and inventory initiatives and provide ideas as how to improve processes.
  • Work with Buying team on low stock/out of stock items.
  • Work with Assistant Inventory Manager/Buying team on RA’s, RTV’s and process for damage/defectives.
