About The Position

The iconic Waldorf Astoria property in New Orleans, The Roosevelt, is seeking an FT Steward Supervisor to join the team! The Steward Supervisor plays a hands-on leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and hygiene across all kitchen and outlet areas. This position supports efficient service delivery by overseeing stewarding operations and assisting the team as needed. What Will I Be Doing? As the Steward Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent internal customer service while supporting culinary and F&B operations.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude and take initiative to address and resolve issues.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, chefs, and leaders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Supervise the proper collection, removal, and replacement of garbage bins in kitchens, stewarding areas, and corridors, ensuring bins are emptied, rinsed, and sanitized as required.
  • Ensure storerooms remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Oversee the cleaning and polishing of silver, copper, and stainless-steel items, ensuring they are returned to their designated storage areas.
  • Maintain the polishing machine and deoxidizing bath in proper working condition.
  • Ensure all damaged or missing articles are reported promptly and accurately.
  • Confirm all stewarding stations are cleaned and reset before the end of each shift.
  • Train, guide, and support stewards on assigned duties and proper procedures.
  • Operate and supervise the proper use of the automatic dishwashing machine.
  • Ensure clean and adequate dishware is supplied to all restaurants and outlets.
  • Oversee cleaning of floors, tiles, kitchen corridors, and stewarding areas to meet sanitation standards.
  • Verify completion of FSMS checklists in preparation for service.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices to ensure the safety of all team members.
  • Perform any additional reasonable duties assigned by management.
