About The Position

The club offers a refined dining experience to its distinguished membership. This role is integral to the culinary team, with a focus on delivering exceptional culinary offerings and contributing to an elevated and memorable dining experience. Position Overview The Steward (Dishwasher) plays a vital support role on the kitchen team, by ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas. This role helps maintain a clean and organized back-of-house environment and contributes to a safe and efficient culinary operation.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a high-end or fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
  • Understanding of sanitation and food safety standards (training can be provided).
  • Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in job-related English.
  • Ability to work varied shifts and flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work varied shift and flexible schedule in a hot, humid, and nosey environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all dishes are properly prepared, sanitized, and placed in the correct location.
  • Scrapes, rinses, and loads dishes, utensils, and cookware into dishwashing machines.
  • Hand-washed large pots, pans, and specialty kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Properly unloaded and organizes clean items into designated storage areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the dishwashing station and surrounding areas.
  • Empties trash cans and clean receptacles; reline cans as necessary.
  • Sweeps, mops, and pressure washes floors to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Follows all sanitation and safety procedures in compliance with health regulations.
  • Assists with receiving and storing kitchen supplies when needed.
  • Communicates breakage or equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
  • Supports culinary team with other cleaning or prep duties as assigned.
  • Enforces strict health and hygiene standards in assigned station; maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and club requirements.
  • Attends daily briefings, meetings, and trainings as required.
  • Reports to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed, and in the correct uniform.
  • Makes sure the kitchen is properly closed and complete the closing tasks, check out with Sous Chef/Executive Chef before leaving.
