About The Position

Provides clinical and administrative leadership for sterile processing functions across multiple sites of care spanning the inpatient and ambulatory operations of SJHS. Responsible for the 24-hour operation of the SPD departments and is driven to meet and exceed safety standards as well as staff, patient and physician expectations. Responsibilities include accountability for the day to day management and long-term planning for these areas. This includes, but is not limited to, financial accountability, staff development that supports the delivery of quality patient care. Selects, develops and maintains teams of competent staff and holds them accountable for and recognizes their contributions for desired results. Maintains full responsibility and accountability for all department staff, care delivery, financial, outcome and operational objectives. Oversight of the coordination of the daily technical tasks of reprocessing medical and surgical equipment to ensure items are assembled in accordance with established policies, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines. Responsible for ensuring customer and patient support through infection control processes, sterility assurance, and equipment/instrumentation availability, each in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • RN Indiana license or Surgical Tech certification required.
  • Minimum of two years SPD or operating room experience.
