Your work here will have a direct impact on products that millions of people rely on every day. We are currently looking to add a Steel Weld- Working Lead to join our team! The Steel Weld Working Lead is responsible for overall operations within the assigned area. You will adhere to and uphold plant policies and procedures. The Working Lead is accountable for safety, quality, and productivity in the Steel Weld department. You will foster a well-trained and motivated workforce. You will also assume the duties of the Senior Lead in their absence, but you will not personally give associate disciplinary actions, reviews, merit increases, etc.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Must be able to work before/after shift as needed.
Must maintain attendance points of 7 or less to remain in Department Lead role.
Welding experience is a must

Responsibilities

Conducts associate training and cross-training within the department.
Interprets and reads prints and verifies first piece quality for all jobs run.
Ensures parts/products are made per specifications; knows finished goods model numbers; knows parts that are required to make the assembled product.
Monitors and documents hourly production rates on associates.
Confirms paperwork is 100% complete, accurate, legible and is returned to appropriate area upon completion of the run per set up.
Sets up, adjusts, and operates all equipment safely and efficiently with little supervision.
Identifies and communicates problems to Production Supervisor or Senior Lead.
Is responsible for accuracy of data capture of every task performed via MRP or special order.
Reports to Senior Lead if production schedules are not being met.
Implements and maintains 5S Program. Keeps area neat and completes daily cleaning schedules.
Completes preventive maintenance and all regularly scheduled maintenance of machine tooling, hand tools and machinery, to maintain good working order.
Notifies Production Supervisor or Senior Lead if associate is operating above or below their rated level.
Communicates safety, quality and productivity expectations and follows up to inspect periodically.
Works all jobs in the department as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
