About The Position

Build What Matters at CMC Step into a role where your hands keep a steel operation moving. As a Steel Mill Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, you’ll combine sharp diagnostics with skilled repair to keep complex production equipment safe, reliable, and efficient. A Day In The Life You arrive to a fast-paced floor and start with a safety huddle. From there, you’ll patrol assigned areas, monitor and inspect equipment for defects , and prioritize work orders. You’ll execute predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance , then document it in our systems—time entry, notifications, work orders, and corrective action notes included. When a crane stalls or a bender drifts out of tolerance, you’ll troubleshoot, collaborate with fellow Technicians, and return the asset to service. Repair and maintain overhead cranes, shears, benders, threaders, forges, induction heaters, and welders Uphold our CMC Safety Programs and Safety Culture in everything you do Use hand, power, and precision tools safely—including at height and in adverse conditions Tackle required building maintenance Purchase needed parts and supplies; track purchase requisitions as required Cross-train across systems and attend extensive equipment-specific training Keep your area and tools clean and in good condition Partner with other Technicians on job orders and troubleshooting Pitch in on additional duties as needed What You’ll Bring 4+ years maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, preferably in heavy industry Mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on experience in both Ability to read service manuals and technical documents and write clearly Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus; welding skills are preferred Commitment to OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies Team player who thrives in a fast-paced setting, digs into root causes, and sweats the details Proficiency with hand, power, and precision tools for full-scope repairs Comfort working outdoors in all weather, including heat and cold Willingness to work rotating shifts with some required overtime and additional overtime as business needs Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and steps, and work outdoors when needed Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required. Requirements

  • 4+ years maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, preferably in heavy industry
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on experience in both
  • Ability to read service manuals and technical documents and write clearly
