About The Position

Day in the life On any given shift, you’ll keep one of the world’s largest steel producers running. You’ll move between production bays, sometimes at height or in confined spaces, diagnosing issues across hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems. You’ll use standard and specialized tools, and operate mobile equipment like pendant/overhead cranes and forklifts, to install, maintain, repair, and return equipment to service so operations never miss a beat. What you’ll handle Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment: hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, conveyors, cranes, power transmission components, and mobile equipment. Support operating teams when needed to keep production moving. Work solo with minimal supervision or alongside other maintenance technicians, depending on the task. Adapt to changing plant environments—hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, and noisy—across different areas of the facility. Perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces as required.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience (military experience welcomed) or equivalent education.
  • Relevant backgrounds include hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission, welding, pipefitting, structural repair, or diesel mechanics.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to work 8-hour rotating shifts that include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety—consistent use of PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal boots) and adherence to procedures.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self-direction.
  • Successful completion of required assessment test(s).
