About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Steam Turbine Customer Instructor to deliver advanced technical training on turbine and generator technologies to internal teams and customer participants. This role provides the opportunity to shape the skills and expertise of operators, engineers, and technicians through hands-on, classroom, and virtual instruction. You will contribute as a subject matter expert, enhancing training content, methods, and participant engagement. The position combines technical proficiency with instructional design, offering exposure to cutting-edge energy technologies and operational best practices. The role is based at a learning center with occasional travel and field assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical/scientific field, or at least 7 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of field service, engineering, or technical experience related to turbine and generator installation, operation, maintenance, or repairs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in technical instruction, adult learning strategies, or training delivery is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with energy field service, excitation systems, controls, mechanical operations, and turbine technology.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Responsibilities

  • Delivering technical training focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost, across turbine and generator installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Designing, updating, and delivering training curricula using multiple learning methodologies, including virtual, classroom, hands-on, augmented reality, and mentoring approaches.
  • Using participant feedback and performance data to recommend enhancements in instructional methods, curriculum, and course content.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert to support cross-functional teams in improving training programs and technology knowledge transfer.
  • Integrating field engineering tools, reporting systems, and business processes into training content where applicable.
  • Maintaining accurate training records, evaluating student performance, and providing timely feedback to managers and leaders.
  • Enforcing company policies and procedures as part of training objectives.
  • Supporting field assignments that may require travel, weekend, or holiday work as necessary.
