About The Position

The Department of Statistics, Actuarial and Data Sciences at Central Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistics beginning August 24, 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and data science, develop a productive research program, mentor students, and contribute to departmental and university service.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field, completed by the start date.
• Demonstrated record, or strong potential, for academic excellence in teaching, research, and service.
• Ability to teach core statistics, statistical machine learning, and data science courses.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated ability to develop an externally funded research program in statistics or applied areas.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate (MS and Ph.D.) students.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute service to the department, university, community, and professional organizations.
