This job is fully remote and can be located anywhere in the U.S. Essential Functions: Performs basic data extractions using EMC data files and writes specifications to the Strategic Analytics Department to obtain data Gathers documents for market conduct exams from policy and imaging systems and external websites Gathers and submits data reports for National Council in Compensation Insurance (NCCI) and independent states Reviews and analyzes basic data requests from within and outside EMC involving premium, loss, and accounting data Analyzes requests and determines the most suitable way to submit data Verifies data using available data extraction tools such as Excel and SQL Performs audits to ensure data quality. Documents and reports discrepancies Reconciles statistical data to financial data and investigates and corrects discrepancies Analyzes and corrects errors and explains data irregularities to insurance reporting bureaus or states Communicates with corporate office teams and branches on procedures, corrections, and training to support systems Requests system changes Contacts bureaus, such as NCCI or Insurance Service Office (ISO) and states to ask questions related to reports with guidance Partners with outside vendors to answer questions and resolve issues Monitors state websites for updates regarding industry changes, new reporting requirements, and data reporting deadlines Maintains documentation of data requests and logs of data submissions. Monitors systems to ensure that all submission guidelines are met Provides backup to team. Reviews and enters payments in the accounts payable system and Workday.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, preferably in a math, finance, accounting, business, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • One year of experience in property and casualty insurance
  • Basic knowledge of insurance terminology preferred
  • Good quantitative skills and math abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel functions and formulas
  • Basic SQL skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Data reporting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree may be considered in lieu of the insurance experience requirement
