A caregiver in this position works Monday - Friday from 3:30pm - 11:00pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Third Class Stationary Engineers License from the State of Ohio.
  • Five years of experience in steam distribution systems, condensate systems, large chiller systems, water distribution systems, cooling towers and/or air handling systems.
  • Military experience as a Machinists Mate (MM), Electric Power Production (3E0X2) or a similar role will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to inspect equipment
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fire protection equipment, building automation equipment, emergency generators and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate and maintain a high pressure/steam powerhouse, HVAC systems and emergency power and fire protection systems.
  • Monitor and maintain HVAC-related source and distribution equipment such as steam, chilled water, water chemistry, humidification, air handling, etc.
  • Monitor and respond to all fire protection systems.
  • Respond to all emergency calls.
  • Test and monitor emergency generators and transfer equipment.
  • Work at other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed.
