The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive upkeep of boilers and chillers throughout the plant, as well as the troubleshooting and balancing of air compressors. This role involves being the first responder to factory leaks, installing and supporting new equipment, and performing soldering and brazing. The engineer will also provide secondary support for production needs, requiring strong electrical skills, including 3 phase 480-volt expertise, and proficiency with refrigeration gauges. Essential qualifications include an Illinois license to operate boilers, certification to handle refrigerants, and the ability to thread and install water pipes. Familiarity with Trane systems and the maintenance of air handlers is crucial for providing overall infrastructure support for heating, cooling, compressed air, and general plant utilities.
