A caregiver in this position works 10:30PM – 7:00AM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Inspect, operate and maintain a high pressure/steam powerhouse, HVAC systems and emergency power and fire protection systems. Monitor and maintain HVAC-related source and distribution equipment such as steam, chilled water, water chemistry, humidification, air handling, etc. Monitor and respond to all fire protection systems. Respond to all emergency calls. Test and monitor emergency generators and transfer equipment. Work at other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: A high school diploma or GED. Third Class Stationary Engineers License from the State of Ohio. Five years of experience in steam distribution systems, condensate systems, large chiller systems, water distribution systems, cooling towers and/or air handling systems. Military experience as a Machinists Mate (MM), Electric Power Production (3E0X2) or a similar role will be considered. Working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Knowledge of fire protection equipment, building automation equipment, emergency generators and controls.
