About The Position

Bering’s Home Center is seeking a Stationer (Stationery Consultant) to join our Stationery & Party Goods team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, appreciates fine paper goods, and takes pride in providing thoughtful, personalized service. This is a customer-focused role for someone who enjoys meaningful interactions, thoughtful recommendations, and creating a warm, memorable shopping experience—whether a customer is picking out everyday stationery or planning something special.

Requirements

• Have patience and love guiding customers through choices
• Pick up on context clues and enjoy making thoughtful suggestions
• Are detail-oriented and take pride in doing things the right way
• Are self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn—we’ll train you!
• Prior retail or customer-facing experience required
• Flexible availability, including weekends

Nice To Haves

• Experience with stationery, weddings, or party goods is a plus
• Comfortable learning POS (point-of-sale) systems and basic computer tasks

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, attentive shopping experience for every customer
• Provide one-on-one guidance and recommendations for stationery, invitations, and party goods
• Listen carefully to customer needs and make informed, tasteful suggestions
• Assist with special orders, follow-up, and order coordination
• Maintain organized displays, sample books, and a polished department appearance
• Work independently while contributing positively to the department and store team
