Job Summary Operates, inspects, and maintains all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Performs safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all necessary building systems within technically sophisticated facilities. Ensures equipment operates in an energy efficient, safe manner while minimizing downtime through anticipation of necessary repairs and maintaining records of past operating experiences.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years’ related experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, production equipment repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of overall system design and applications
  • HVAC technicians must have Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
  • Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction
  • Must be available for call-in work
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in HVAC trade school or equivalent job experience
  • 3-5 years facilities/maintenance related experience
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC
  • 3rd Party Certification
  • Strong Customer Service skills and strong Interpersonal skills
  • Experience with DDC and electromechanical controls
  • Able to read basic wiring schematics with understanding of symbols and sequence of operation
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to use power tools including saws, drills, sanders and grinders
  • Self-starter that performs tasks with little or no outside vendor assistance

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Performance Perform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and components
  • Respond to hot or cold calls, troubleshoot problems and correct as needed
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on time and document same
  • Technical Operations Perform electrical tasks including safely replacing lighting, ballasts, lamps and LED drivers
  • Perform plumbing tasks including resolving problems with sinks and toilets, unclogging pipes
  • Perform basic carpentry projects including minor construction projects, painting and repairs
  • Study and become familiar with various equipment and methods required for proper operation
  • Safety and Compliance Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary and comply with all safety procedures
  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City ordinances, codes, or laws
  • Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy
  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled
  • Additional Duties Manage outside vendors and contractors as needed
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts
  • Provide on-call services and respond promptly in instances of emergency
  • Pick up and deliver supplies as needed
  • After hour “On Call” availability.
  • Alternate After Hour “On Call” weeks with other building engineering personnel.
