About The Position

The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire an administrator to oversee Statewide Processing Centers. This position plans, develops, organizes, controls, and manages, through subordinate staff, the operations related to the complex duties of the delivery of services through the Statewide Processing Centers and implements policies, procedures, processes, and standards in accordance with State and Federal regulations; develops, reviews, and implements, existing program goals; participates in the planning and programming of agency activities mandated by legislation, regulations, and the Division; acts authoritatively on issues impacting division management; confers with Associate Director and other administrative staff on feasibility of recommended policies and procedures; and interprets new legislation and administrative policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Requires skill, knowledge, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with courses in a social or human services field.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years progressively responsible administrative experience working with public assistance service programs for a health or human services organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of professional supervisory experience in supervising staff, assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience analyzing current public assistance service delivery systems, recommending approaches and implementing change.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience interpreting, providing guidance, developing, and implementing public assistance program policy, procedures, and processes.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in a public assistance eligibility system, such as Integrated Eligibility System.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience utilizing a Statewide phone system to deliver services.
  • Three (3) years of professional case work experience in a social services agency utilizing social casework methods, techniques and principles, including reviewing and evaluating casework activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Statewide Processing Center Administrator for the Division of Family and Community Services.
  • Assists in the Division’s administration of providing services to individuals through a statewide call center.
  • Plans, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates through subordinate supervisors the activities of the Statewide Processing Centers.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes reports regarding Statewide Processing Center activity, quality, and productivity.
  • Travels to represent the Division as spokesperson at local, state, and national organizations and task forces giving presentations, interpreting, and explaining Department of Human Services (DHS) initiatives and interpreting program policy and mandates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
