About The Position

The Stateroom Attendant is responsible for ensuring an exceptional in-stateroom experience for guests aboard the cruise ship. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and order in assigned staterooms and corridors, delivering premium service, and adhering to health and safety standards. The Stateroom Attendant must possess strong hospitality skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with guests and crew members.

Requirements

  • Outstanding hospitality and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accountability for guest experience.
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines (USPH).
  • Knowledge of ship's operations and events.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish; English is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an assigned section of staterooms and corridors in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Responsible for cost containment through proper use and handling of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures for staterooms, bathrooms, balconies, and corridors.
  • Assist guests and crew members with inquiries by complying with the ship's standard operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of the ship's events and functions to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Make beds and clean bathrooms and staterooms according to health guidelines.
  • Sort soiled linen and terry for collection by the linen runner.
  • Empty and segregate trash and garbage into designated containers.
  • Dust furniture and clean various surfaces including walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Ensure glasses in bathrooms and staterooms are washed in the dishwasher during service.
  • Replenish daily supplies such as towels and amenities.
  • Replace mini bar items daily and present receipts to guests.
  • Transport guest laundry and dry cleaning to and from the laundry.
  • Deliver canapés to guest staterooms as requested.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment in proper working condition.
  • Transport guest luggage during embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Requisition supplies and ensure the work area is hazard-free.
  • Assist with Room Service as necessary.
  • Greet guests during embarkation and explain stateroom amenities and services.
  • Report to workstation on time and properly groomed according to standards.
  • Report maintenance issues immediately to management.
  • Attend meetings and training activities as required.
