About The Position

Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition-free, full-time virtual school for students in grades K-12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by Cognia. Georgia Connections Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Position Overview: Working from the Duluth Office, the State Reporting Program Coordinator will be key in organizing and managing the State Reporting submissions for FTE, SC, CPI, and SR. Additionally, this position will collaborate closely with the leadership team to maintain and collect school and student data that correctly reflects the district’s activities. This is a 12-month, full-time position.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or Data Management field
  • Proficient in SQL, including writing queries and analyzing relational datasets
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing the data flow between LMS, SIS, and GOIEP.
  • Experience transferring files via secure file protocol.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with GA data collections, including FTE, Student Class, CPI, Student Record, and CRDC
  • Experience in a virtual school setting and familiarity with online education practices.
  • Working knowledge of GADOE’s EdFi implementation process
  • Experience using the GADOE’s new SRS platform
  • Understanding the distinction between level 1 and level 2 errors, and experience in error resolution for each level
  • Must have received a rating of Effective or Highly Effective in the most recent performance reviews.
  • Must have no ethics violations
  • Previous experience with supervision
  • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage State Reporting Submission Cycles ○ Oversee the on-time submission of all recurring state and federal data collections, including FTE, Student Class, CPI, Student Record, CRDC, to ensure full compliance with reporting requirements ○ Request necessary student data from departments in a timely manner to support accurate reporting.
  • Manage the error-resolution workflow and support team members in understanding and executing their roles ○ Design, maintain, and manipulate complex spreadsheets, converting raw data into accurate, upload-ready formats for state reporting systems ○ Supervise and manage State Reporting team members
  • Ensure Data Accuracy ○ Conduct routine data audits and reconciliation by extracting and organizing educational data from the Student Information System using SQL ○ Partner with our EMO State Reporting data managers to enhance data transfer processes between the Learning Management System (LMS) and the Student Information System (SIS), improving accuracy and reducing data loss ○ Audit data reconciliations comparing multiple systems to maintain accuracy and integrity for special populations ○ Resolve data discrepancies through collaboration with the state reporting team, school departments, other districts, Georgia Department of Education personnel, and additional stakeholders ○ Submit, track, and manage support tickets with third-party vendors as needed
  • Ensure Data Security and Privacy: ○ Develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures ○ Design and deliver professional development regarding PII and data security ○ Review team practices to ensure proper safeguarding of PII and data security
  • Data Analysis and Feedback: ○ Create Ad Hoc and Sequel Reports for Internal and External Stakeholders ○ Produce on-demand data analyses and comprehensive reports to support leadership decision-making ○ Conduct in-depth data reviews to identify missed opportunities and recommend strategies to maximize funding
  • Other Duties as Assigned
