About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of submissions – SPA, waivers,contracts and waivers, and all CMS reports across DHB Sections. Reviewing proposed SPA documentation from DHB staff for clarity, formatting and effective dates. Assisting in completing administrative forms in sufficient detail for submission to the Department and CMS. Facilitating SPA review and approval by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of State Budget and Management, Fiscal Research Division of the General Assembly, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Arranging and facilitating conference calls between the Division, CMS and the federally recognized tribe. Regularly update senior Division management of the status of all pending SPAs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines governing NC Public records law compliance
  • General understanding of Medicaid policies and Medicaid program administration
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with associates, officials and the public
  • Proven ability to express comments and opinions clearly and concisely in oral or written form
