As a State and Local Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing financial information for clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating in a variety of industries. The State and Local Tax Manager oversees client relationships, staff and leaders, to ensure high-quality work is delivered to our clients. This role involves the development and implementation of comprehensive tax planning strategies for clients, managing a portfolio of tax engagements, supervising tax staff, and reviewing their work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to firm standards. You will also stay abreast of evolving tax laws, coordinate tax research, and effectively communicate complex tax concepts to clients. Responsibilities include reviewing and overseeing the preparation of tax returns, monitoring filing deadlines, collaborating with other tax professionals, mentoring staff, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and business development.
