JOB DESCRIPTION: Startup/Commissioning Manager Responsible for the safe startup and plant operations activities including equipment and system checkout, inspection for proper installation, review for correct design and evaluation of expected system and equipment operation parameters under temporary start-up conditions. Leads the overall safety, quality, schedule, commissioning, staffing, material control and field-based procurement for the start-up and commissioning process. Plans, implements and directs pre-commissioning testing programs and start-up procedures on projects. Reviews design changes and provide reports to engineering liaison to assist in design change preparation. Responsible for developing start-up/commissioning schedule and milestones for incorporation into project schedule to assist project team in ensuring a successful overall schedule completion. Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating all assignments for start-up/commissioning staff.

Requirements

  • This position requires an individual with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience Start-up/commissioning of plant operations and/or development, design, or improvement of plant operations, equipment, or systems in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Professional experience must include experience in safe equipment operation (ex. pumps, fans, compressors) and controls, equipment protective systems (ex. Electrical breakers, hardwired interlocks, software interlocks and devices
  • 2 years' experience in NFPA 70E application process.
  • OSHA Certifications, at least 30 hours.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • 2 years' experience in P6 scheduling software (ex. scheduling interdependencies, predecessors and successors).
  • 2 years' experience creating a schedule for the startup and commissioning portion of a project.
