About The Position

This position involves installing residential and commercial-grade Starlink equipment for government and community broadband programs to support broadband deployment projects. As a project-based position, the workload and schedule will vary, and assignments may be adjusted to align with specific project timelines. The role is non-exempt and located in Alaska, requiring travel.

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely on ladders, roofs, and in varied outdoor/weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, Microsoft Office, and general technology systems.
  • Working knowledge of internet and Wi-Fi networks; ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals and documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for customer support and training.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to provide training and present information to individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian cultures, or willingness to learn.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years experience in telecommunications, satellite installation, low-voltage systems, IT support, construction, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Previous experience using hand and power tools.
  • Must be 21 years of age with a Valid driver’s license

  • Experience installing Starlink or similar systems
  • Commercial Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Perform site assessments and install Starlink satellite internet systems at residential, commercial, and community locations.
  • Mount, align, and secure equipment, including roof, wall, and pole installations.
  • Run, secure, and weatherproof cabling; drill and seal wall penetrations as needed.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and verify signal quality, system performance, and connectivity.
  • Complete installation documentation and provide customers with handoff instructions and basic system guidance.
  • Follow all safety standards and Tidal Network installation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
