Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
  • Ability to multitask, work under stress, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions without supervision.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and analyze reports.
  • Knowledge of shrink programs and related audits.
  • Ability to follow company customer service guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Ability to supervise employees and ensure compliance with policies and required standards.
  • Knowledge of coffee and tea beverage preparation methods and equipment.
  • Ability to memorize drink formulas and PLU codes.
  • Understanding of Starbucks corporate policies and Safeway/Albertsons policies.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for most of the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry 5–50 lbs., push/pull 10–300 lbs. depending on cart load.
  • Ability to reach, grip, grasp, bend, twist, and perform frequent physical tasks associated with beverage preparation and stocking.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts in a 24‑hour operation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service at all times.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise Starbucks department employees to ensure optimal staffing.
  • Resolve customer concerns related to service or product issues.
  • Perform inventory, order necessary supplies, and maintain adequate product levels.
  • Prepare, brew, and serve beverages using Starbucks equipment and established procedures.
  • Operate a cash register, accept payments, and make correct change.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the coffee service and café area, including equipment, counters, dishes, and floors.
  • Set up and maintain product displays, signage, and tags.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, Starbucks corporate policies, and all required audits.
