About The Position

This individual will provide oversite and direct the fence and yard support staff in each branch, coordinate fence jobs and oversee the cleaning of preparation of all restroom units. In addition, provide support to Sanitation Supervisor with driver scheduled routes and times and cooperate with both departments to best serve the needs of customers and co-workers at the assigned branch while maintaining a clean and organized working environment. This individual will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing equipment, trailer frames, and accessories. This individual will also be the point of contact and oversee other employees at the branch site or onsite at customer locations and provide administrative office support for Star Sanitation. Maintains a DOT clearance, Class A Commercial license, Tank Endorsement with 2 years of commercial driving with the ability to operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001lbs or more and has current knowledge of disposal of waste procedures at designated Treatment Plants.

Requirements

  • Experienced in a similar work environment with a proven track record of strong organizational skills, effective decision-making and excellent people skills a plus.
  • Provide and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Maintain DOT clearance and Class A Commercial license with Tank Endorsement.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with a (GVWR) of 26,001lbs or more.
  • Requires 2 years of commercial driving.
  • Must be eligible to be added to company insurance.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, coworkers, and management verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to apply math concepts to practical situations
  • Good reading skills
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Responsibilities

  • Assist with light maintenance of equipment such as replacement of broken or worn parts on units.
  • Assembling equipment, trailer frames, and accessories.
  • Conduct trailer maintenance inspections.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance of equipment and trailers.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structure and equipment through the use of welding, cutting, and measuring tools.
  • Assist with fencing projects as needed (building fence panel and gate).
  • Assist with the delivery of units to customer site (load, transport, and unload) when drivers are needed for big orders during special events.
  • Ensure all restrooms are scheduled to be delivered on time and customer review sheet is collected after its delivery.
  • Ensure the parking lot and yard site are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Ensure weekly communication with the events coordinator to review weekend events.
  • Efficiently following up and ensuring that all equipment lists are accurate and current
  • Lock up at the end of the day.
  • Maintain the inventory and organization in the storage room.
  • Assist with fencing projects as needed (loading/unloading materials and installing on site).
  • Assist with moving company equipment and loading/unloading supplies using a forklift (MUST be forklift certified by company).
  • Assist with the delivery of units to customer site (load, transport, and unload) when drivers are needed for big orders during special events.
  • Attend suites and permanent restrooms on site for special events to ensure they are kept clean and well stocked, entryways remain clear, and they have continued access to running water and electricity.
  • Assist with timecard verification and submission.
  • Assist in the new process hire registration into timeclock.
  • Facilitate new hire facility tour.
  • Set up new hire candidate interviews.
  • Assist in the new process employee Time Off Requests.
  • Liaison contact between office staff and yard staff.
  • Conduct staff meetings, huddles or training sessions.
  • Answer phone lines in a professional manner, take messages, and/or redirect calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Greet customers coming into the office, assist with their inquiries, and/or redirect them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Handle customer/field operations calls in a timely, positive, and professional manner.
  • Answer all vendor inquiries in a professional and positive manner.
  • Handle customer concerns when attending suites and permanent restrooms on site for special events.
  • Redirect customer inquiries to appropriate personnel during the delivery of units.
  • Flexible to work different shifts during the peak season or special events.
  • Consistently ensures outstanding customer service through the timely and accurate delivery of services.
  • Ensures the use of equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, following established safety procedures, using appropriate safeguards, and observing common sense rules of safety in all on the job activities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communications with management, coworkers, vendors and all other business contacts.
