About The Position

The position provides administration, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the Center’s overall quality improvement activities via collaboration with the Center Director, Medical Director, Assistant Center Director, and Director of Nursing, other managers/supervisors, and front-line staff. This position reports to the Center Director and is a member of the Executive Team. Coordinates and implements activities to facilitate the provision of highest quality services to LNMTC residents including systematic review, monitoring, and analysis of issues related to resident quality of care and safety. Updates the Executive Leadership Team and the QI Committee of changes with the CMS requirements. The position chairs the QI Committee overseas and manages the Electronic Health Record (Epic) and the RL6/event reporting system. Ensures that Patient Safety Work (PSWP) is identified and labeled and maintained in accordance with Patient Safety (PSO) requirements. Directly supervises other Quality Assurance professional and Health Information Management Department. Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC), located in Wilson, NC, is a state-operated certified Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). With a staff of about 520, LNMTC provides support to approximately 200 residents with complex medical needs and/or co-existing neuro-cognitive disorders. THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHEREVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to all staff, residents, and various outside agency staff such as CMS and DHSR.
  • Strong planning and development skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of CMS/other regulations related to long-term care and quality improvement concepts and principles.
  • Working knowledge of supervision, management and administrative practices and ability to apply management process to work situation.
  • Computer skills in email, word documents, excel RL6 Reporting System Electronic Health Record Epic.
  • Master's degree in social sciences, business administration, or communications from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of supervisory or consultative experience in human services program to which assigned; or Bachelor's degree in social sciences, business administration, or communications from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in the above; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
