Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in “Automotive News.” A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals. 2nd Shift Power & Free Technician-Chrome Loop Load/Unload Starting Pay Rate: $24.00(after 3 months $24.50, after 6 months $25.00) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm- 11:pm, with mandatory overtime as needed Reports To: Press Supervisor Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-conscious individual to join our 2nd shift team as a Power & Free Technician. This role plays a critical part in the day-to-day movement of parts and materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working at heights and with heavy materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Basic mechanical skills required
  • Must be able to work independently and follow safety protocols
  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus (or ability to be trained)
  • Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to work at heights and on suspended walkways
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach above head and below shoulder level, and communicate effectively
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environments
  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus (or ability to be trained)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Power & Free system across the entire facility
  • Load bumper shells (up to 50 lbs) onto racks—requires reaching up to 7 feet
  • Deliver requested parts and racks to various departments as needed
  • Monitor the conveyor system via computer to ensure smooth operation
  • Troubleshoot system errors and identify jam locations on the rack system
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs, including changing stops and cylinders (no electrical work)
  • Notify or involve maintenance team when repairs are beyond scope
  • Climb vertical ladders and work on a suspended metal floor above ground level
  • Safely perform rack work using protective coverings (tarps/cardboard) to prevent tool drops
  • Use ladders to reach elevated rack areas when needed
  • Swap out damaged racks with repaired ones from maintenance
  • Occasionally lift and move heavy racks (requires lifting rack 1–2 feet onto rollers)
  • Operate a forklift to move racks in and out of the facility
