About The Position

The Die Design and Die Standards Supervisor leads the engineering, standardization, and global synchronization of die design processes. This role is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and timely delivery of stamping tools for aluminum-intensive vehicle programs. The Supervisor manages a global network of design vendors, drives “Digital Thread” innovation, and maintains Ford’s competitive edge through benchmarking and the continuous improvement of global die standards. Operational Leadership: Drive the execution of cycle plan deliverables, ensuring die designs meet "OK-TO-CAST" and "OK-TO-CUT" milestones for seamless transition to construction. Global Standardization: Lead the Global Die Design strategy, facilitating quarterly technology shares across Europe, China, and Turkey to harmonize standards and best practices. Vendor & Resource Management: Oversee die design vendors and internal Liaisons, managing cost, quality, and timing while building panel-specific technical expertise. Technical Innovation: Spearhead "Digital Thread" projects, including the development of macros and automated calculators, to reduce human error and accelerate design timing. Continuous Improvement: Optimize die standards (7207/Tool and Die Council) to enhance tool construction, try-out efficiency, and production stability in stamping plants. Strategic Benchmarking: Conduct OEM benchmarking to identify and eliminate performance gaps, integrating cutting-edge technology into existing engineering procedures. Team Development: Mentor a diverse engineering team, oversee career development plans, and partner with HR to recruit highly skilled, underrepresented talent. Requirements

  • BS in Engineering required (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • 5+ years in Die Engineering, including die process, design, CAE, or die face modeling.
  • Specialized knowledge in aluminum-intensive vehicle stamping, tool design standards, and production maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5, UGNX, and Teamcenter.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, global teams and manage complex supplier relationships.
