About The Position

Advanced Process Technologies Inc. (APT) serves the Food & Dairy Industry designing custom equipment from concept to installation. We have the experience, talent, and expertise to help our customers stay ahead of the competition while giving them the support they need to succeed. This opportunity provides students who are interested in building their career as a welder an opportunity to apply their knowledge through on-the-job experiences. As a Stainless Steel Welding Intern, you can expect to work directly with our team to assist in building custom designs using both TIG and MIG processes. Located in Cokato, MN, you will work at our headquarters in a clean, climate controlled shop with a team environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a one- or two-year Welding Degree
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to think critically
• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

Nice To Haves

• TIG & MIG welding experience
• Prior experience or exposure to welding
• Knowledge of relative safety standards
• Prior experience working in a Shop environment

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings
• Read measurements to weld assemblies using a variety of measuring devices
• Assemble components using a variety of powered and hand tools
• Set up and adjust welding equipment to perform high quality welds
• Operate a variety of grinders to prepare, clean and finish welds
• Daily production goals based on schedule to ensure on-time, high quality project completion
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
