About The Position

This is an on-call, event-based position. Hours vary week to week depending on the Spokane Live production calendar. There is no guarantee of minimum hours. Team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis and must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when events are scheduled. Under the direction of the Stage Manager, the Stagehand supports the Spokane Live entertainment venue by assisting with the setup, operation, and teardown of all live events and productions. This role is responsible for loading and unloading equipment, assembling and disassembling stage productions, operating technical systems including spotlight, lighting, sound, and video boards, and ensuring that all staging, furnishings, and signage are properly installed and removed. The Stagehand plays a critical role in delivering safe, professional, and world-class entertainment experiences at Spokane Live.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; completed on-the-job training in live event production is advantageous. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in live show or entertainment production.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and external contacts. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Excellent physical stamina and strength; ability to lift, push, and carry heavy equipment throughout extended shifts. Move efficiently throughout the work area.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude; demonstrate ability to effectively collaborate with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to listen and respond to visual and aural cues; able to move around all work areas effectively and efficiently during live productions.
  • Willing and available to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and support a culture of excellence at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino by modeling STRC values, delivering exceptional guest service, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Participate in all aspects of the event conversion process, including setup and teardown of all productions, and perform numerous assignments as required by each event.
  • Load and unload trucks; assist in the assembly and disassembly of show productions, including moving road cases, furniture, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Assist technicians with video, sound, and lighting production before, during, and after shows, ensuring all technical systems are functioning properly.
  • Set up and tear down flooring, portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment as directed.
  • Ensure all signs and banners are properly installed inside and around the production venue prior to events.
  • Assist performers with wardrobe changes and other production-related tasks as needed before and during events.
  • Perform routine facility maintenance in backstage and production areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Work effectively under conditions of extreme urgency and high-pressure event timelines, maintaining focus and following directions from production leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, performers, touring crews, and management to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as required by the production schedule.
  • Demonstrate dependability and reliability by maintaining regular, punctual attendance and consistently fulfilling assigned event shifts and production responsibilities.
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment; promote healthy team member relations and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
