About The Position

River Park Hospital, is a 165-bed facility and a leader in behavioral health care, located in Huntington, WV. River Park provides acute inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults and seniors and features a 22-bed residential treatment program for children and adolescents and a 25-bed adult forensic unit. River Park was recently recognized as a Top Performer by Joint Commission and maintains the highest standards for quality care. The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for the direct care staffing (RN’s, LPN’s, MHT’s) of the hospital in coordination with the Clinical Administration to meet the set staffing guidelines and to utilize nursing staff in the most efficient manner possible. The staffing coordination is also responsible for tracking employee attendance (including absenteeism, lateness, FMLA, bereavement, jury duty, etc), coordinating hospital vehicle assignments, gathering data for infection control program related to employee absences, and assisting with new hire orientation. The staffing coordinator may be asked to provide coverage in the other departments such as nursing or special procedures

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED
  • Between 1-3 years of related work expereince
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks
  • Detail oriented
  • Understanding of hospital staffing matrix
  • Ability to adapt to various computer software programs

Responsibilities

  • direct care staffing (RN’s, LPN’s, MHT’s) of the hospital in coordination with the Clinical Administration to meet the set staffing guidelines and to utilize nursing staff in the most efficient manner possible
  • tracking employee attendance (including absenteeism, lateness, FMLA, bereavement, jury duty, etc)
  • coordinating hospital vehicle assignments
  • gathering data for infection control program related to employee absences
  • assisting with new hire orientation
  • Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and treats others with dignity/respect
  • Demonstrate the ability to comprehend the total picture of the operation and willingnmess to assist and perform job tasks other than those assigned to increase quality of the operation department
  • Monitors overtime and alerts the Director of Nursing when adjustments are needed
  • Ability to communicate staffing concerns to DON or designee
  • Maintains UKG master schedule for consistency
  • Completes daily staffing variance reports regarding staff to patient ratio and provides explanation for variances
  • Maintains procedures for tracking mandated work and stop time
  • Tracks attendance for nursing staff and notifies appropriate supervisor and infection control nurse as needed
  • Maintains patient valuables (safe) sign in/out procedures,. vehicle scheduling, and company credit card assignment
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all patients, employees, and hospital operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position
