The Staffing Coordinator role at Sanford Health requires a self-directed individual with a high level of accountability and minimal supervision. The primary responsibility is adjusting and maintaining staff work schedules. This involves utilizing each department's staffing policy to make decisions for scheduling appropriate levels of patient/resident care providers, and using requests to determine staff scheduling. The coordinator will negotiate staffing needs with leaders and/or directors, anticipate immediate and future staffing needs, and actively work to resolve staffing problems by broadcasting to staff, utilizing PRN staff, or reallocating existing staff. The role also includes tracking, documenting, and reporting staffing data to directors for analysis. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for working with employees, leads, and department directors. The ideal candidate must be well organized, possess a high degree of self-motivation and independence, and be flexible when adjusting schedules. Proficiency in computer applications for email, scheduling, Excel, and payroll is required. The position demands the ability to work effectively with multiple interruptions, under stress, and with large interactive groups all seeking scheduling requests.
