About The Position

Scheduler (Staffing Coordinator) – Full-Time Orchard Post Acute – Fresno, CA Pay Range: $21–$22/hour (BOE) CNA Preferred (Not Required) Join Our Team! Orchard Post Acute is seeking a highly organized and dependable Scheduler to support our nursing department. This role is essential in ensuring proper staffing to meet the needs of our residents while maintaining compliance with facility policies and standards. General Purpose The primary purpose of this position is to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the nursing department based on census, budget, and facility needs, as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous scheduling or administrative experience preferred
  • CNA certification preferred but not required
  • Experience in skilled nursing or healthcare setting is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, scheduling systems)
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and multitask effectively

Nice To Haves

  • CNA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain monthly nursing schedules ensuring proper coverage
  • Manage daily staffing needs, call-offs, tardiness, and absenteeism
  • Maintain up-to-date employee contact lists and scheduling records
  • Coordinate schedule changes, requests, and coverage needs
  • Answer staff calls regarding scheduling and staffing needs
  • Assist with timecards, PTO requests, and staffing documentation
  • Communicate staffing concerns and recommendations to Director of Nursing
  • Assist with hiring processes including coordinating interviews and onboarding support
  • Ensure new hires receive schedules and timecards prior to start date
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee and resident information
  • Work closely with nursing leadership to address staffing challenges
  • Communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and other departments
  • Assist with staffing reports, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Participate in meetings and support staffing-related initiatives
  • Track attendance and assist with documentation for performance reviews
  • Verify licenses and certifications for nursing staff
  • Support orientation scheduling and onboarding processes
  • Follow all facility policies, including HIPAA and confidentiality standards
