Position: Staff UX Designer Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 Duties: Drives user experience solutions across a small- to medium-sized portfolio of projects by translating business needs into actions and roadmaps; evaluating the scope of projects; designing scalable, reliable, extensible, and maintainable user experience frameworks while balancing resources, constraints, requirements and complexity; directing other project team members to define or select methods to be used (for example, competitive audits, secondary research); managing the creation of user experience frameworks, process flows, site maps, wireframes, and prototypes to advance the company's merchandising, business, marketing, and branding objectives; developing scalable and flexible design frameworks and patterns to ensure the user experience is simple and cohesive; presenting design to project and business teams for review; collaborating with Engineering leads to determine efficacy of given solution; supervising the production of detailed specifications; and reviewing project requirements document (PRD) to ensure correct translation of design. Drives experience strategy and innovation to improve user experience by evaluating the current competitive landscape for compelling customer experiences; analyzing future trends and forecasts in related fields; constructing compelling artifacts outlining present conditions and proposed solutions; designing transitional roadmaps for the future or by clarifying existing user experience frameworks for small- to-medium-sized project portfolios; and presenting information within and across the organization to gain strategic alignment and encourage change. Structures, maintains, and delivers user experience design consistency across software design efforts in collaboration with Engineering Architects by formulating project needs and measures of success; developing and implementing user experience strategy to solve for near-term launch with consideration for long-term portfolio evolution; analyzing user tasks; designing optimum workflow to improve customer experience; requesting and attending usability and brainstorming sessions; and presenting user experience flow and project decisions to senior leadership. Drives continuous improvement of User Experience tools, documentation, and process by maintaining holistic viewpoint when tackling project decisions across the portfolio; defining solutions frameworks from a scalable and global viewpoint; recommending changes to and governing the evolution of site standards; collecting feedback and industry research standards; reviewing and approving projects based on best practices; and guiding the creation of patterns and styles. User Discovery: Requires knowledge of: User experience strategies; User interviews and surveys; User journeys; Story boards; Contextual inquiries. To assess gaps between business expectations and user experience strategies. Leverages a deep understanding of trends in user consumption habits to develop or improve interaction design and user experience strategies. Anticipates and mitigates risks during information synthesis and independently arrives at possible solutions for interactive designs. Analyzes and interprets existing data (for example web analytics, user surveys, customer support calls). Leads cross-functional team projects by establishing and communicating project needs and measures of success; directing cross-functional collaboration activities; collaborating with partners (for example, Engineering, site merchandising, customer advocacy); driving the attainment of project goals; creating customer experiences; advocating for the customer in experience workflow; requesting and attending usability sessions; participating in brainstorming sessions; and presenting user experience flow and project decisions to all levels of leadership. Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area and 2 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area and 4 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Skills required: Experience understanding various accessibility standards such as Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG). Experience writing HTML and CSS specifically in relation to accessibility principles. Experience using Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) roles, properties, and states to enhance accessibility. Experience with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (Mac/iOS), and TalkBack (Android) to assess accessibility and identify issues. Experience with manually testing web applications with assistive technologies (screen readers and keyboard-only navigation) to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Experience conducting accessibility audits and producing detailed reports to outline issues and recommend fixes. Experience using automated tools and scripts for accessibility testing (automated scans for WCAG compliance). Experience understanding design inclusive and accessible user experiences. Experience solving complex accessibility challenges, educating, and training design, engineering, and product teams and providing guidance and direction on accessibility standards and shift-left practices. Experience with magnification software (ZoomText), voice-activated tools like Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Speech Recognition, and alternative input devices like switches or adaptive keyboards. Experience using browser developer tools (Chrome DevTools and Firefox Developer Tools) to inspect and debug accessibility issues in web pages. Experience using Figma to conduct accessibility reviews of design mockups and prototypes, ensuring that design elements like color contrast, typography, and interactive components comply with accessibility standards before development. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $200,221/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Requirements
